The Hollywood Bowl is getting a major upgrade thanks to a massive $15 million donation from Pasadena philanthropists Terri and Jerry Kohl. On March 19, 2024, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors officially voted to name the venueâs upcoming facility the Terri and Jerry Kohl Artists Pavilion. This generous gift marks one of the most significant private contributions to the historic outdoor amphitheater in recent years.
This new 7,500-square-foot pavilion is designed to be more than just a backstage area. It will serve as a multipurpose hub for artists, patrons, and community events alike. The Hollywood Bowl, which is managed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, plans to use the space to enhance the experience for performers while also hosting educational and community programming throughout the year.
Construction on the site is moving fast, with an official completion date targeted for June 2026. The project represents a major investment in the future of the iconic venue, ensuring it remains a world-class destination for music lovers. The Kohls are well-known figures in the Southern California arts scene, having previously supported institutions like the L.A. Opera and the Colburn School.
