Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan’s highly anticipated horror-comedy, Bhooth Bangla, is shifting its theatrical debut. Originally scheduled to hit screens on April 10, 2026, the film will now arrive one week later. Producer Ektaa Kapoor announced the strategic move following the massive box office momentum of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge.

Fans will not have to wait long for the spooky laughs, as paid previews for Bhooth Bangla are now set to begin on Thursday, April 16, 2026. The full-scale general release will follow on Friday, April 17. Kapoor noted that the decision was finalized after extensive discussions with distributors and exhibitors to ensure both films receive adequate screen time and audience reach.

The scheduling shift aims to capitalize on the sustained popularity of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge while giving Kumar’s film a dedicated window for its opening weekend. Bhooth Bangla marks the first collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan in over 14 years, making it one of the most talked-about projects of the 2026 film calendar.
