Get ready to bid farewell to Victorian London's trailblazing female detective, Eliza Scarlet. PBS Masterpiece has officially announced that its beloved detective drama, Miss Scarlet, has been renewed for a seventh season, which will also mark its final run. Series star Kate Phillips, who brings Eliza Scarlet to life, and Tom Durant-Pritchard, playing Detective Inspector Alexander Blake, are both reprising their roles for the swan song. Phillips shared her gratitude, stating, "Miss Scarlet has been one of the greatest joys of my career, and I will forever be grateful to Rachael New for creating such a witty, sharp, and delightful character in Eliza." Creator and writer Rachael New also expressed her sentiments, noting she's "very proud of how the final season plays out and the story we tell for Eliza."
The final season will see Eliza navigating new challenges both professionally and personally, as she's found love. Expect to see her reunited with familiar faces while confronting a powerful new crime boss. Joining Phillips and Durant-Pritchard are returning cast members Paul Bazely as Clarence, Tim Chipping as Detective Phelps, Evan McCabe as Detective Fitzroy, Felix Scott as Patrick Nash, Cordelia Bugeja as Florence, and Ansu Kabia as Moses. The series, which originally premiered in 2021 as Miss Scarlet & The Duke before being retitled, has captivated audiences with Eliza’s determination and wit, and now prepares for a thrilling and satisfying close.
