Daft Punk may have officially retired in 2021, but the legendary French duo is still finding ways to surprise their global fanbase. To mark the third anniversary of their split, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo released a new official music video for their 2005 hit "Human After All." The surprise drop appeared on the band’s official YouTube channel, bringing fresh visuals to the title track of their third studio album.

The video was curated and edited by Cédric Hervet, a longtime collaborator who famously co-wrote the duo's 2006 feature film, Electroma. This new edit is comprised entirely of archival and previously unused footage from the Electroma production. Fans of the cult sci-fi film will recognize the signature desert landscapes and the iconic robot protagonists, but the "Human After All" edit features perspectives and sequences never before seen in the original movie.

Since announcing their retirement on February 22, 2021, with the "Epilogue" video, Daft Punk has remained active through high-profile archival releases. This latest project follows the 2023 10th-anniversary expansion of Random Access Memories, which included unreleased demos and studio outtakes. While the duo has not announced a return to performing, this release continues their tradition of mining their extensive vault to celebrate milestones in their 28-year career.
