After nearly three decades of red-carpet coverage, NBCUniversal is pulling the plug on Access Hollywood. The media powerhouse announced it is officially exiting the first-run syndication business, a massive shift that will effectively cancel several staple programs. The flagship entertainment news show, currently led by hosts Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover, has been a television mainstay for 29 seasons since its debut in 1996.
The restructuring does not stop with the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Popular daytime talk shows are also on the chopping block as part of the strategic exit. The Steve Wilkos Show, which has aired for 18 seasons, and Karamo, hosted by Queer Eye star Karamo Brown, will both conclude their runs. Additionally, the spin-off series Access Live will be shuttered as NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution shifts away from local station daily content.
Fans still have time to say goodbye to the familiar faces of daytime TV before they leave the airwaves for good. According to reports from The Wrap and the Los Angeles Times, all affected programs will continue to produce and air new episodes throughout the 2025-2026 television season. Viewers can expect to see the final broadcasts of these shows in the summer of 2026.
