Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea is officially stepping into the solo spotlight. His debut solo album, Honora, is scheduled for release on March 27, 2026, through Nonesuch Records. The project marks a significant departure from his stadium-rock roots, focusing on his lifelong passion for jazz and his skills as a classically trained trumpet player.
The album features a star-studded lineup of guest contributors. Thom Yorke of Radiohead lends his vocals to the second single, "Traffic Lights," which followed the December 2 release of lead single "A Plea," while legendary singer-songwriter Nick Cave also makes an appearance on the record. According to Nonesuch Records, Flea handles both bass and trumpet duties throughout the collection, blending experimental textures with traditional jazz influences.
Fans have been anticipating the release since news of the project and supporting tour dates first broke in mid-January. Outlets like Consequence and Ultimate Classic Rock have noted that the album represents a deeply personal exploration of Flea's musical identity. To support the release, the musician has scheduled a series of live dates where he is expected to showcase the new material alongside a specialized ensemble.
