Miranda Priestly is officially back, and she still hasn't learned her assistants' names. 20th Century Studios has released a brand-new trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2, confirming a theatrical release date of May 1, 2026. The highly anticipated sequel reunites the original power trio: Meryl Streep as the formidable Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, and Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton. Stanley Tucci also reprises his beloved role as Nigel Kipling, the only man capable of keeping Runway magazine's fashion closet in order.
The new footage reveals a dramatic power shift in the cutthroat world of high fashion. Set nearly two decades after the original film, the sequel finds Miranda struggling to keep Runway afloat amidst a sharp decline in print media and advertising revenue. In a delicious twist, she is forced to go head-to-head with Emily Charlton, who has transformed into a high-powered executive at a major luxury conglomerate. According to The Guardian, Emily now controls the very advertising dollars Miranda desperately needs to save her legacy.
Directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, the film also sees Andy Sachs returning to the fold as Runway's new Features Editor. The trailer features a standout moment where Miranda fails to recognize her former protégé, asking Nigel, "Sorry, who is this?" The sequel's ensemble cast has also expanded to include Kenneth Branagh as Miranda's husband, along with Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, and Lucy Liu. Fans can prepare for the ultimate fashion face-off when the film arrives in theaters just in time for Met Gala season.
