Toei Company is taking its iconic superhero franchise to the world stage. To celebrate the upcoming 55th anniversary of Kamen Rider, the studio has announced a massive global expansion strategy designed to reach international fans like never before. This initiative marks a major shift for the long-running "tokusatsu" series, which first premiered in Japan in 1971 and has since become a cultural phenomenon.
The expansion includes the launch of three distinct brands to organize and produce content for international markets. THE KAMENRIDER CHRONICLE will manage the franchise’s deep library of past works, while THE KAMENRIDER PREMIUM will focus on high-quality feature films. Most notably, THE KAMENRIDER ANIMATED will develop new anime projects specifically tailored for a global audience, tapping into the worldwide demand for Japanese animation.
Fans won't have to wait long for new action. The current series, Kamen Rider Zeztz, is already streaming and broadcasting in multiple regions outside of Japan. Additionally, Toei confirmed that a brand-new double feature film is slated for a theatrical release in July 2026, ensuring the 55th-anniversary celebrations hit the big screen with full force.
