Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal are officially heading to Australia for their upcoming project, Honeymoon with Harry. Amazon MGM Studios announced that the high-profile dramedy is scheduled to begin filming in Queensland in April 2026. The production marks a major win for the region’s film industry, bringing two of Hollywood’s biggest names to the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.
The film follows a heartbroken man, played by Gyllenhaal, who decides to go on his planned honeymoon even after the tragic death of his fiancée. In a surprising twist, he is joined by his would-be father-in-law, portrayed by Costner. The two characters must navigate their shared grief while stuck together on a trip originally intended for a celebration of love. This long-gestating project has finally found its home and lead duo with the backing of the Screen Queensland Production Attraction Strategy.
According to reports from Screen Queensland and The National Tribune, the production is projected to contribute an estimated $51 million to the Queensland economy. The shoot is also expected to create approximately 215 jobs for local cast and crew members. Arts Minister Leeanne Enoch highlighted that the arrival of Amazon MGM Studios continues to solidify Queensland’s reputation as a premier destination for global blockbuster productions.
