The gothic romance-drama, written and directed by Gyllenhaal, had its world premiere at the Empire Leicester Square in London on February 26, 2026. Warner Bros. Pictures will release the film in North American theaters and IMAX on March 6, 2026, with international screenings beginning March 4, 2026.
The film boasts a powerhouse ensemble, with Academy Award nominee Jessie Buckley starring as the titular Bride and Academy Award winner Christian Bale portraying Frankenstein's monster. Set in 1930s Chicago, the narrative follows Frankenstein's monster as he seeks a companion, leading groundbreaking scientist Dr. Euphronius, played by five-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening, to revive a murdered young woman. What unfolds is a dramatic journey of love, chaos, and a radical cultural movement, exploring themes of identity and self-reclamation.
The impressive cast also includes Peter Sarsgaard, Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal, and Oscar winner Penélope Cruz as Myrna, alongside Julianne Hough, John Magaro, and Jeannie Berlin. Produced by Maggie Gyllenhaal, Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Talia Kleinhendler, and Osnat Handelsman-Keren, 'The Bride!' carries an $80 million budget and features cinematography by Lawrence Sher, who utilized IMAX-certified digital cameras.
