The Windy City is staying busy for another year. NBC has officially renewed all three of its "One Chicago" dramas for the upcoming 2026-2027 broadcast season. Fans can celebrate as Chicago Fire returns for its milestone 15th season, while Chicago P.D. heads into Season 14 and Chicago Med prepares for Season 12.

The announcement from the network came earlier than expected, catching many industry watchers by surprise. Typically, NBC and Wolf Entertainment wait until the May upfronts to reveal the fate of their Wednesday night lineup. However, the massive popularity of the Dick Wolf franchise made these early pickups a clear choice for the network.

Slated for a Fall 2026 return, all three series will continue to be produced by Universal Television. While specific plot details and casting updates for the new seasons are still under wraps, the renewals ensure that the firefighters of Firehouse 51, the Intelligence Unit, and the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center staff will continue their stories through 2027.
