Netflix has a new hit on its hands with the limited series Vladimir, which premiered on the streaming platform on March 5, 2026. Starring Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz and The White Lotus breakout Leo Woodall, the dark comedy-drama has quickly climbed the trending charts. The series is adapted from Julia May Jonasâs 2022 debut novel of the same name.
The story follows Weisz as a middle-aged English professor whose life at a small liberal arts college begins to unravel. While her husband, played by Stephen Root, faces multiple allegations of misconduct with former students, Weisz's character becomes increasingly fixated on a charismatic younger colleague, portrayed by Woodall. The show explores themes of power, desire, and the complexities of modern academic life.
Executive produced by Jennifer Schuur and Kevin Messick, the production is a collaboration between Netflix and Annapurna Television. Critics have praised the chemistry between the leads, and the showâs sharp social commentary has fueled its rapid rise in viewership. According to Tudum, the series is already securing a spot in the Top 10 lists across several countries.
