Reservoir Media is hitting a high note with Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer. The company has officially expanded its partnership with Zimmer’s Remote Control Publishing, securing a worldwide administrative publishing deal for his legendary catalog. This agreement ensures Reservoir will manage the rights to some of cinema's most iconic scores, including Inception, The Lion King, and Gladiator.

While the creative side of the business is thriving, the boardroom is heating up with high-stakes offers. Reservoir confirmed it has received non-binding proposals to be taken private from Irenic Capital Management as well as a joint bid from Wesbild and Richmond Hill. The potential buyers are eyeing a deal valued at $10.50 per share to acquire all outstanding equity in the company.

The flurry of acquisition interest has also triggered legal scrutiny. Law firm Bleichmar Fonti & Auld LLP has initiated an investigation into the Reservoir board of directors regarding the fairness of the $10.50 per share offer. Investigators are looking into whether the board is fulfilling its fiduciary duties to shareholders by adequately exploring all alternatives to maximize value before agreeing to a sale.
