Pophouse Entertainment, the Stockholm-based firm co-founded by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus, has officially acquired the name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights of the legendary Tina Turner. The deal, finalized with global music company BMG, also includes a majority stake in the late icon's music catalog. This acquisition secures Pophouse’s control over Turner’s share of her recordings and music publishing assets.
Known for its pioneering work on the ABBA Voyage digital avatar concert in London, Pophouse aims to preserve Turner’s massive cultural impact through immersive technology. Per Sundin, CEO of Pophouse, stated that the company plans to "safeguard and promote" Turner’s legacy for future generations. While specific details remain under wraps, the company confirmed that new creative projects featuring the superstar will be announced within the next six months.

BMG originally acquired Turner’s music rights in 2021, and this new partnership with Pophouse marks a shift in how the icon’s brand will be managed moving forward. Turner, who passed away in May 2023 at the age of 83, sold over 100 million records during her storied career. By joining Pophouse, Turner's estate aligns with a roster that includes KISS and Cyndi Lauper, who have also signed major deals with the Swedish entertainment company.
