Demolition is officially underway at Hong Kong Disneyland as the resort prepares for its next major Marvel expansion. Construction crews have begun clearing the area formerly occupied by the Tomorrowland Stage and the NRG POD snack kiosk. This site will eventually house a brand-new thrill attraction featuring Spider-Man, which was first announced by Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D'Amaro at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August 2024.
The upcoming ride is designed as a high-stakes drop tower attraction. It will serve as the third major Marvel installment for the park, joining the existing Iron Man Experience and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! attractions. Visitors at the park can already see the transition in progress, as new construction walls surrounding the site are decorated with Stark Expo logos and Stark Industries branding.
This development is a key part of the multi-year expansion plan for the park's Marvel-themed land. While The Walt Disney Company has not yet confirmed a specific opening date, the removal of the stage and kiosk marks the official transition from planning to active construction. The attraction’s storyline is expected to center on a new invention from Peter Parker that guests will help showcase at the expo.
