The wait for peak parody is finally over. Paramount Pictures has officially released the first trailer for the franchise reboot, simply titled Scary Movie. This marks a historic homecoming for Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Keenen Ivory Wayans, who are involved with the series for the first time since 2001.
Fan favorites Anna Faris and Regina Hall return to their iconic roles as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks. The new footage confirms the film will take aim at the biggest horror hits of the last few years. The trailer features hilarious send-ups of the viral dance from M3GAN, the gory transformation scenes in The Substance, and the intense subway sequence from Scream VI.
The original creators are thrilled to be back in the director's chair and writers' room. "We are excited to be a part of the new Scary Movie and work with each other again," the Wayans Brothers stated in a joint press release via Variety. The film is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on June 12, 2026.
