Varijashree Venugopal took the stage by storm at the GroundUp Music Festival in Miami, Florida. Performing between March 13 and 15, 2026, the acclaimed Carnatic singer joined the Grammy-winning jazz-fusion group Snarky Puppy. The collaboration was a highlight of the band's famous "Family Dinner" set, where they invite global artists to reimagine their sound.

During the performance, Venugopal showcased her incredible vocal range in an 11-minute original composition. The piece was written by Snarky Puppy bandleader Michael League specifically to feature her unique style. Venugopal performed the lyrics in Kannada, seamlessly blending Indian classical traditions with the band's signature funk and jazz arrangements.

This Miami appearance marks a major milestone in Venugopal’s 2026 global tour. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone India, the artist discussed her mission to bring Carnatic music to international audiences. Beyond her work with League, Venugopal has established herself as a bridge between Eastern and Western musical traditions through high-profile collaborations.
