Get ready, music fans! The iconic duo Gnarls Barkley has officially made their long-awaited return with the release of their third and final studio album, 'Atlanta,' dropping today, March 6, 2026. This exciting project marks the first full-length release in 18 years for vocalist CeeLo Green and producer Danger Mouse (Brian Burton), following their 2008 album, 'The Odd Couple.' The 13-track album arrives via 10K Projects and Atlantic Records.
The album is led by the reflective single 'Pictures,' which offers a nostalgic look back at the duo's early days. CeeLo Green shared insights into the track's inspiration, explaining it draws heavily from his childhood in Atlanta, Georgia. Specifically, he recalled his experiences riding the city's MARTA public train system in the 1990s, often alone from 8 AM to 2:30 PM in 8th grade after being sent home from school.
Green describes 'Pictures' and the album's essence as a journey of self-discovery. "'Pictures' is like going back to square one. It's a full circle moment," Green stated. "The spirit of Gnarls Barkley is always self-discovery. The sweet, the sad, and the strange. The universe, the adventure inside of yourself." Fans can dive into this final chapter, celebrating the unique sound that Gnarls Barkley brought to the music world with their previous hits like 2006's Grammy-winning debut, 'St. Elsewhere,' and its chart-topping single 'Crazy.'
