The gods are truly among us! Fans are getting their very first glimpse of Ryan Hurst as Kratos and Callum Vinson as Atreus in the live-action adaptation of PlayStation's acclaimed God of War. Amazon Prime Video has officially kicked off production for the highly anticipated series, confirming the significant casting and offering a sneak peek at the iconic father-son duo.
Hurst, known for his roles in Sons of Anarchy and The Walking Dead, steps into the formidable boots of Kratos, the Ghost of Sparta, while young actor Callum Vinson takes on the role of his son, Atreus. The series will closely follow the storyline of the 2018 God of War game, chronicling Kratos and Atreus's emotional journey to scatter the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye, across the highest peak.

This epic adaptation is shaping up with a stellar creative team and supporting cast. Ronald D. Moore, the acclaimed showrunner behind Battlestar Galactica and Outlander, is at the helm as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. Emmy Award-winning director Frederick E.O. Toye (ShĆgun, The Boys, Fallout) is set to direct the first two episodes. The series, co-produced by Sony Pictures Television, Amazon MGM Studios, and PlayStation Productions, has already received a two-season order and commenced filming in Vancouver, Canada. Joining Hurst and Vinson are Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Ed Skrein as Baldur, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ălafur Darri Ălafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, and Danny Woodburn as Brok.
