Get ready to return to Button House! The critically acclaimed BBC comedy series, Ghosts, is officially being adapted into a feature film, titled Ghosts: The Possession Of Button House. Fans won't have to wait long for more spectral shenanigans, as filming is slated to begin in March at West Horsley Place in Surrey, as well as other locations in the surrounding area.

This exciting project is a collaboration between Monumental Television (part of ITV Studios), BBC Film, Lionsgate, and BBC Studios. The original creative team is deeply involved, with series creators and stars Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard, and Ben Willbond having jointly penned the screenplay. They will also reprise their roles, joined by fellow fan-favorites Charlotte Ritchie, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, and Lolly Adefope. Directing duties fall to Simon Hynd, who previously helmed 15 episodes of the TV series.

Producers on the film include Alison Owen, Debra Hayward, Alison Carpenter, and Andy Brunskill. Executive producing for their respective companies are Jill Forbes for Monumental, Eva Yates for BBC Film, Marie-Claire Benson and Emma Berkofsky for Lionsgate, and Richard Acton for BBC Studios. Lionsgate UK will handle distribution in the UK and Ireland, while BBC Studios is set to distribute the film worldwide. The creators shared their enthusiasm, stating, "We thought we had said goodbye to Button House at the end of the final series. We never planned to come back. But when we had the idea for this story, we all got so excited that we couldn't resist returning to our haunted home for one more adventure."

The original Ghosts series ran for five successful series on BBC One, concluding in December 2023 with a Christmas special. With the entire beloved ensemble returning for this cinematic adventure, die-hard fans and newcomers alike are in for a treat, according to producer Alison Carpenter.
