Dutch electronic music festival DGTL has once again proven its dedication to environmental stewardship, taking home the coveted International Greener Festival Award at the 2026 International AGF Awards. The ceremony, hosted by A Greener Future (AGF), took place on February 24, 2026, at the Royal Lancaster London, as part of the annual Green Events & Innovations Conference.
Judges specifically lauded DGTL for its comprehensive sustainability efforts, which include a strong reliance on renewable energy, excellent provisions for public transport and cycling access for attendees, and an entirely plant-based food offering. In a remarkable achievement, DGTL also snagged the Greener Transport Award, highlighting its success in minimizing the carbon footprint associated with attendee and operational travel.
Upon receiving the award, Esmee Bouwmeister, DGTL's sustainability manager, expressed her gratitude. “We are very happy with this recognition again. It's really important AGF and things like this exists because it creates a playing field and standard and we learn from it a lot,” Bouwmeister stated. The 2026 awards celebrated the most innovative and outstanding festivals, venues, and organizations from across the globe, acknowledging their achievements in sustainable event delivery over the past 12 months.
