Disney+ is expanding its Italian library through a new licensing agreement with Italy’s public broadcaster, Rai. This partnership allows the streaming giant to offer a curated selection of Italian programming to its subscribers in Italy. Many of these titles will be available on the platform as early as the day after they premiere on traditional television.

The deal highlights several high-profile titles, including the popular talk show Belve and the game show The Floor — Ne rimarrà solo uno. In addition to these hits, Disney+ will host a variety of Rai-produced drama series in a dedicated collection on the app. By leveraging existing local content, The Walt Disney Company aims to strengthen its international appeal while managing production costs through strategic licensing.

This move follows similar successful collaborations between Disney+ and other European broadcasters as the company seeks to bolster its local offerings. The agreement emphasizes the streamer's focus on local storytelling as it competes for market share against rivals like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Viewers can expect to see the new Italian collection rolling out to the platform immediately.
