Fans can finally glimpse the epic sequel as New Line Cinema, in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures, unveiled the full trailer for Mortal Kombat II on February 25, 2026. Directed by Simon McQuoid, the highly anticipated film brings back a host of fan-favorite champions and introduces a major new player: the charismatic Hollywood star, Johnny Cage, portrayed by Karl Urban.
The trailer showcases a high-stakes battle as Earthrealm's defenders prepare to face the formidable dark rule of Shao Kahn, played by Martyn Ford. The narrative promises to finally deliver the actual Mortal Kombat tournament that was teased in its 2021 predecessor. Returning cast members include Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, and Chin Han as Shang Tsung, among others.
