Hilary Duff isn't holding back when it comes to the realities of marriage. The beloved actress recently opened up about a particularly fiery moment with her husband, musician Matthew Koma, confessing she once threw his phone into a bush during a "drag-out fight."

Duff shared the personal anecdote in a recent interview with Dakota Fanning for Interview Magazine. She explained that while she and Koma "literally never fight," they do have "one drag-out fight once a year." The memorable phone-tossing incident occurred during the Los Angeles fires in January 2025, a stressful time when they were displaced from their home with their children. "We just needed to have it out," Duff recalled, adding that throwing the phone "felt so good."

The honest revelation offers a rare peek into the couple's dynamic, who married in December 2019 and share three daughters, alongside Duff's son from a previous marriage. Duff also touched on other intimate aspects of her relationship and personal life during the interview, including fears of Koma leaving her for another songwriter—a theme explored in her new album, "Luck... or Something," which Koma co-produced. Koma, for his part, acknowledged these worries as "insane" but also "very real."
