The BBC is reportedly looking for a new face to lead Strictly Come Dancing into its 2026 season. Comedian Miranda Hart has entered "secret talks" with network bosses to join the show as a primary host. This move follows the high-profile departure of long-time presenting duo Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who officially left the ballroom in December 2025.

According to reports from The Mirror and Radio Times, BBC executives view Hart’s slapstick humor and warm persona as the ideal successor to Winkleman’s comedic hosting style. Hart is a well-known fan of the program and has previously appeared on the spin-off show It Takes Two. Insiders suggest that her involvement would help maintain the show’s lighthearted energy while refreshing the format for a new era.

While the talks are ongoing, no official deal has been confirmed. A BBC spokesperson told Express.co.uk that full plans for the 2026 series will be announced "in due course." For now, fans are waiting to see if Hart will be the one to shout "keep dancing" when the show returns this autumn.
