Actress Patricia Heaton recently unearthed a true blast from the past: her very first commercial gig in New York City. The Emmy-winning star, known for her roles in Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle, took to social media on Friday, February 27, to share a fascinating 1983 Pabst Blue Ribbon beer commercial, revealing it was her inaugural paid acting job in the Big Apple.
Heaton, 67, excitedly shared the vintage ad, which she noted aired during the Olympics. She explained, "Hey guys! I cannot wait to show you what I found, my very first gig in New York City, 1983. A Pabst Blue Ribbon beer commercial and it aired during the Olympics." In the retro clip, Heaton played a cheerful waitress serving beer, while other familiar faces mingled as patrons.
The commercial is a treasure trove of future talent, also featuring pre-stardom appearances from Jason Alexander, who would later become a household name as George Costanza on Seinfeld, and Polly Draper, renowned for her work on Thirtysomething. Heaton recalled, "I made a lot of money off it that I needed but guess what? The other people in the commercial: Jason Alexander, Seinfeld, and Polly Draper, Thirtysomething. And we were all just trying to make a living back in the day in New York City." This nostalgic peek offers a charming glimpse into the early careers of some of television's most beloved actors.
