Pixar’s latest animated adventure, Hoppers, is proving it has serious staying power. The film successfully maintained its No. 1 position at the North American box office for its second consecutive weekend. It earned an estimated $28.5 million, according to data reported by the Associated Press.
The movie, which features the voices of Bobby Moynihan and Piper Curda, originally debuted with a solid $45.3 million opening. Its total domestic performance remains steady as it heads into the spring season. Globally, the film has already crossed a major milestone, with cumulative earnings now reaching $164.7 million.
Industry analysts at Forbes noted that the film's second-weekend hold is particularly impressive for an original animated property. Directed by Daniel Chong, the story follows a young girl who enters the body of a beaver to go undercover in the animal world. The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and continues to lead the theatrical market.
