Box office history has been rewritten in North America. The original action-thriller Dhurandhar has officially claimed the title of the highest-grossing Indian film of all time in the region. The action epic, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has finally surpassed the massive record previously held by the 2017 blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

According to tracking data reported by The Indian Express and Koimoi, the film reached approximately $21.40 million by its second Saturday. By the end of the weekend, it eclipsed the approximately $21 million lifetime North American gross of Baahubali 2, a milestone that many industry insiders believed would remain untouched for years. The film was released worldwide on March 19, 2026, and has seen a meteoric rise in domestic theaters.

The film’s record-breaking performance is a major win for the Indian film industry, surpassing the long-standing box office benchmarks set by the Baahubali franchise in the West. Great Andhra and Gulte report that the film’s strong word-of-mouth and high-octane action sequences drove massive turnout across major North American circuits. As it enters its third week of release, Dhurandhar continues to hold strong at the box office with no signs of slowing down.
