The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has officially unveiled its highly anticipated list of 2026 nominees, and it's a star-studded and incredibly diverse roster! A total of 17 artists across genres like pop, hip-hop, R&B, metal, and rock are in the running for music's highest honor. This year brings a fresh wave of talent to the ballot, with ten artists receiving their first-ever nominations.
Among the notable first-time hopefuls are global superstar Shakira, hip-hop pioneers Wu-Tang Clan, and legendary singer-songwriter Lauryn Hill. They join other exciting first-timers like Phil Collins (as a solo artist), INXS, Pink, Jeff Buckley, Melissa Etheridge, New Edition, and Luther Vandross. Phil Collins is already a Hall of Famer as a member of Genesis, making this a chance for a solo induction. Returning to the ballot are acts such as The Black Crowes, Billy Idol, Sade, and for their third nomination, pop icon Mariah Carey, Oasis, Joy Division/New Order, and Iron Maiden.
Fans can now cast their votes daily on the official Rock & Roll Hall of Fame website. This public vote will be tallied as a single ballot and included with those cast by an international voting body of over 1,200 artists, historians, and music industry professionals. John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, commented, “This diverse list of talented nominees recognizes the ever-evolving faces and sounds of Rock & Roll and its continued impact on youth culture.” The official inductees will be announced in April 2026, with the induction ceremony slated for the fall.
