Good news for German film fans! RTL Deutschland has inked a fresh deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment Deutschland, significantly boosting the film offerings for its streaming service RTL+ and its free-TV channels. This comprehensive agreement expands a long-standing partnership, securing a treasure trove of cinematic content for viewers.

The highlight of this new agreement is the early and exclusive streaming access for RTL+ to a slate of highly anticipated upcoming Sony films. Viewers can look forward to blockbusters such as 'Venom: The Last Dance', 'Kraven the Hunter', 'Karate Kid: Legends', and '28 Years Later', the new installment from filmmakers Danny Boyle and Alex Garland. 'Venom: The Last Dance', starring Tom Hardy, premiered in New York City on October 21, 2024, and was released in the United States on October 25, 2024. Meanwhile, '28 Years Later' was released in the United Kingdom and United States on June 20, 2025.

Beyond the new releases, the deal also brings a wealth of popular back-catalogue titles to RTL+. Fans will be able to stream earlier films from franchises like the '28 Days Later' series and the 'Venom' universe for a limited period, offering a perfect lead-in to the new cinematic adventures. RTL Deutschland's linear free-TV channels will also benefit, gaining access to a wide array of Sony films, including the entire 'Hotel Transsilvanien' series (featuring 'Hotel Transsilvanien 4 – Eine Monster Verwandlung'), along with audience favorites such as 'Passengers' and 'Arrival'.

Andreas Fischer, Chief Operating Officer at RTL Deutschland, expressed enthusiasm for the deal, stating, "With this comprehensive agreement, we are strengthening our long-standing and successful partnership with Sony Pictures and securing some of the biggest and most sought-after film franchises of the coming years." Holly Comiskey, SVP Country Manager, Distribution & Networks, UK & GSA at Sony Pictures, added, "This agreement reflects the strength and ongoing development of our collaboration with RTL Deutschland."
