Ryan Gosling is officially heading into a new dimension. The Oscar-nominated Barbie star has signed on to lead an untitled sci-fi action-comedy from the Academy Award-winning directing duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, collectively known as The Daniels. This marks the first collaboration between the Everything Everywhere All at Once creators and Gosling.

Universal Pictures is backing the high-profile project, which is being described as a "fun sci-fi action comedy with a big heart" and "very existential." While specific plot details remain a closely guarded secret, the film is expected to carry the same signature blend of humor and philosophical depth that earned The Daniels three Oscars in 2023. Production is currently scheduled to begin in Los Angeles during the summer of 2026.

Audiences can already mark their calendars for the theatrical debut. According to reports from World of Reel and ComicBook.com, Universal has set a release date of November 19, 2027. The project follows a busy streak for Gosling, who recently starred in The Fall Guy and is also currently starring in Amazon MGM Studios' box office hit Project Hail Mary.
