In a powerful and candid social media update, acclaimed actress Rajshri Deshpande, widely recognized for her compelling role in Netflix's "Sacred Games," revealed that she was recently diagnosed with Grade 1 breast cancer. The actress, who also garnered praise for her work in films like "Manto," shared her journey on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from a hospital bed, where she confirmed she has successfully undergone surgery.

Deshpande's diagnosis was identified as Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma (NOS), a common type of breast cancer, which was thankfully caught at an early stage during a routine check-up. "We fortunately caught this early in a routine checkup which gave us a fighting chance," she wrote on Instagram, detailing the "rollercoaster ride" of tests and surgery. She expressed immense gratitude for the early detection, which she believes provided her with a crucial "fighting chance" against the illness.

Currently, the actress is recovering beautifully and is set to return home soon. In her heartfelt post, Deshpande also thanked her medical team, specifically mentioning Dr. Mandar Nadkarni and the staff at Kokilaben Hospital, for their expertise and compassionate care. Her announcement has been met with an outpouring of support from fans and industry colleagues, including filmmaker Kiran Rao and actors Adarsh Gourav and Tilotama Shome, all wishing her a swift recovery.
