Industry veterans Simon Horsman and Daniel Wood have officially launched Quilty, a new AI-powered intelligence platform designed to transform how film and television projects are developed and financed. By combining advanced data analytics with creative insights, the platform aims to provide independent producers and investors with the same level of sophisticated market intelligence typically reserved for major studios.
At the heart of the platform is the Quilty Score, a proprietary metric that evaluates a project’s potential for success across multiple dimensions, including cast appeal, genre trends, and historical box office data. Co-founder Simon Horsman, the former CEO of Los Angeles Media Fund, stated that the tool is intended to "level the playing field" for creators who often lack access to high-level financial forecasting and production planning resources.
Beyond simple scoring, Quilty offers a suite of tools for market forecasting and production optimization. The platform allows users to simulate various casting and budget scenarios to see how they impact a project's financial outlook. Daniel Wood emphasized that the goal is to streamline the high-stakes decision-making process, allowing financiers to back projects with a clearer understanding of risk and reward in an increasingly volatile global market.
