The music industry is officially fighting back against the surge of AI clones. Spotify has launched a new feature called Artist Profile Protection to give creators more control over their digital identities. Managed through the Spotify for Artists dashboard, this system allows musicians to review and approve every track uploaded to their official pages. It is a direct effort to stop AI-generated tracks from impersonating famous voices or cluttering legitimate artist profiles with unauthorized content.

Meanwhile, the French streaming service Deezer is expanding its own high-tech defenses. After using a proprietary AI detection tool internally since early 2025, the company made the software commercially available to the broader industry in January 2026. Now, Deezer is making that tool even more accessible to labels and distributors. The goal is to identify "synthetic" audio at the source, ensuring that only authentic music reaches listeners' ears.

These aggressive moves come as platforms struggle with a massive influx of content and fraudulent streaming practices. By filtering out AI-generated tracks that lack proper licensing, these companies hope to safeguard royalty payments for human creators. With Spotify and Deezer leading the charge, the streaming landscape is entering a new era of transparency focused on protecting the integrity of the global music charts.
