HBO's compelling financial drama, Industry, is set to conclude its run after its fifth season. The news comes as the series, which delves into the cutthroat world of high finance in London, just aired its fourth season finale on Sunday, March 1, at 8 p.m. ET on HBO and HBO Max.
Creators, showrunners, writers, and executive producers Mickey Down and Konrad Kay made the decision to end the show, stating their desire to wrap up the narrative on an "unparalleled high." "Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party," the duo shared in a statement, acknowledging their privilege to join the "small, esteemed club of dramas that have run for five seasons on HBO."
The series has garnered significant critical acclaim, with its fourth season seeing a 30% increase in average viewership from Season 3, pulling in 1.7 million U.S. viewers per episode across HBO and Max. Starring Myha'la as Harper Stern and Marisa Abela as Yasmin, alongside a strong ensemble cast including Ken Leung, Kit Harington, and Max Minghella, Industry has been praised for its genre-bending vision. Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President of Programming and Head of HBO Drama Series and Films, lauded Down and Kay's singular vision, stating, "It is gratifying that viewers and critics have recognized season four as bigger and more thrilling than ever."
