Get your web-shooters ready! Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are moving forward with the next chapter of Peter Parker's journey. The high-stakes sequel is officially locked in for a global theatrical release on July 24, 2026. This project marks a fresh start for the franchise, serving as the first entry in a planned new trilogy that follows the world-altering events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Director Destin Daniel Cretton, the filmmaker behind Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, has signed on to lead the production. Filming is scheduled to begin in August 2025, with Tom Holland returning to the lead role. While the previous film ended with the world forgetting Peter Parker’s identity, he will be joined by familiar faces in this upcoming adventure.
The confirmed cast features the return of Zendaya as MJ. In a major move for the franchise, the story will continue to follow Peter Parker as he navigates the world following the massive changes to his reality. This next installment aims to bring a new dynamic to the web-slinger's corner of New York City while exploring an exciting fresh era.
