Actress Christina Applegate is offering a deeply personal look into her ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis, revealing that the condition has largely confined her to her bedroom. In a recent interview with People magazine, published on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the 54-year-old star shared the daily realities of living with MS and how it impacts her life as a mother to her 15-year-old daughter, Sadie.
Applegate, who was diagnosed with MS in August 2021, spoke candidly about pushing through pain for her daughter. "I want to take her; it's my favourite thing to do. It's the only time we have together by ourselves," she shared. "I tell myself, 'Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.' And that's what I do." This raw honesty is a hallmark of her journey, as she also stated, "My life isn't wrapped up with a bow. People's lives, sorry for lack of a better term, f***ing suck sometimes. So I'm being as honest and raw as I possibly can."
The "Married... with Children" and "Dead to Me" actress, married to musician Martyn LeNoble, has been vocal about her health since her diagnosis. She previously discussed on her "MeSsy" podcast with Jamie-Lynn Sigler in August 2025 how her condition has "broken" her daughter, who has had to adapt to a different version of her mother. Applegate continues to share her experiences, including promoting her upcoming memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, which is set to be released on March 3.
