Actress Christina Applegate has candidly opened up about the profound impact of multiple sclerosis (MS) on her daily life, revealing she is often confined to her bedroom due to the chronic pain and fatigue associated with the disease. The 54-year-old star, who was diagnosed with MS in August 2021, shared these personal struggles in a recent interview with People magazine, ahead of the March 3 release of her memoir, You With the Sad Eyes. Applegate frankly stated, "I live kind of in hell," reflecting the severe challenges she faces daily.
Applegate emphasized how the condition significantly affects her ability to function, particularly concerning her role as a mother to her 15-year-old daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble, whom she shares with husband Martyn LeNoble. She described taking Sadie to school as her "favorite thing to do" and "the only time we have together by ourselves." Despite the effort, Applegate admitted she often tells herself, "Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed." She has also shared on her podcast, "MeSsy," co-hosted with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, how her daughter has had to adjust to "losing the mom she had" before the diagnosis.
Known for her honesty, the Dead to Me and Married... with Children star continues to share her raw experience, explaining that "My life isn't wrapped up with a bow." Applegate added, "People's lives, sorry for lack of a better term, f---ing suck sometimes. So I'm being as honest and raw as I possibly can." Her forthcoming memoir is expected to delve deeper into these personal stories, offering an unfiltered look at her journey with MS.
