A significant development has emerged in the ongoing legal battles surrounding Bill Cosby. Donna Motsinger, one of Cosby's accusers, is involved in an upcoming civil trial against him in Santa Monica, California. Further legal proceedings are anticipated for the lawsuit she filed against him.
Jury selection for Motsinger's sexual assault lawsuit against the 88-year-old actor and comedian is scheduled to commence on Monday, March 2, 2026, in Santa Monica. This trial is one of nearly 30 similar lawsuits filed against Cosby by women under various states' new "lookback window laws," which allow sexual assault victims to sue their alleged abusers regardless of when the abuse occurred.
Cosby has already been deposed in at least two of these lawsuits. Portions of his deposition specifically for Donna Motsinger's case became public just last month. In that deposition, Cosby once again admitted to giving Quaaludes to women before engaging in sexual acts with them, a detail that has been central to many of the allegations against him.
