Actress Lindsay Lohan is publicly reflecting on the intense media scrutiny and lack of protection she experienced during her formative years in Hollywood. In a candid interview featured in the March 2026 issue of Vogue Arabia, Lohan, now 39, expressed sentiments of wishing there had been more safeguards for her at the height of her early career.
Lohan, who shot to stardom at just 12 years old with Disney's 1998 remake of The Parent Trap, questioned, "Now I look back and wonder, 'Why didn't anyone just go and take me out of there, protect me more?'" She added that as a teenager, "You don't know how to do that yourself." This intense period of media attention, often fueled by paparazzi and tabloid culture, is something Lohan suggests contributed to her later legal troubles and public struggles.
The Mean Girls star, who is married to Kuwaiti financier Bader Shammas and welcomed their son Luai in July 2023, now resides in Dubai. She has found a different kind of confidence with age and values the increased privacy she experiences away from the constant Hollywood spotlight. Lohan is also set to star in the upcoming TV series Count My Lies.
