San Marino is sending a powerhouse duo to the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, Austria: Senhit and British music icon Boy George. Their vibrant pop-dance anthem, "Superstar," clinched victory at the San Marino Song Contest 2026 final on March 6, 2026, receiving a decisive 100% jury vote.
This marks Senhit's fourth time representing the microstate at Eurovision, building on her previous participations in 2011 with "Stand By," the cancelled 2020 edition with "Freaky!," and 2021 with "Adrenalina" (featuring Flo Rida), where she qualified for the final and placed 22nd. Boy George is credited as a co-writer on "Superstar" alongside Jonathan Bellini, Senhit, and Thomas Stengaard. Although he wasn't on stage for the live performance at the national final, his presence was noted through background graphics.
The song "Superstar" is described as an empowering track centered on self-acceptance and the courage to express one's true identity. With its infectious rhythm, it aims to celebrate the "superstar" within everyone, a message reinforced by Boy George's long-standing advocacy for freedom of expression. The San Marino Song Contest 2026 final saw 21 artists from 13 countries compete at the Teatro Nuovo theatre in Dogana, hosted by Simona Ventura, leading to this exciting selection for Vienna.
