After months of legal hurdles and a missed January release window, the political action epic Jana Nayagan is scheduled for a critical screening by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Revising Committee on Monday, March 9, 2026. According to The Times of India, this review is the final step required to secure the film's theatrical certification.

Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Venkat K. Narayana under the KVN Productions banner, the project is a high-stakes farewell for the superstar. Vijay is expected to pivot entirely to his political career with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), once the film’s promotional cycle concludes. The production features a heavy-hitting cast, including Bobby Deol as the primary antagonist, Pooja Hegde, and Mamitha Baiju, with a high-octane score composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

While the film originally targeted a Pongal release in January, industry insiders now point to a new launch window. Pinkvilla reports that if the March 9 screening goes smoothly, KVN Productions aims to release Jana Nayagan in late April or early May 2026.
