Australian talent agency MCTV is at the center of a growing scandal after dozens of actors and extras claimed they haven’t been paid for their television work. An investigation by A Current Affair found that some performers are owed thousands of dollars for roles they completed months ago. When reporter Steve Marshall visited the agency's Surry Hills office in Sydney, he discovered the space was completely empty.

The agency’s director, Elizabeth 'Beth' Price, has attributed the financial delays to a personal crisis. In communications with A Current Affair, Price stated that a family tragedy in late 2023 severely impacted the business. She maintained that MCTV is still operational and promised that all outstanding payments will be settled soon.

However, many clients remain frustrated by the lack of transparency. Actor Steve Burrows told the program he is among those waiting on significant sums, with some individuals reporting debts of over $4,000. As the physical office remains shuttered, performers are left wondering when they will finally see the money they earned on set.
