The Big Easy is officially a big-screen powerhouse. Film New Orleans reports that the local film and television industry has already injected $200 million into the city’s economy as of March 2026. This rapid start puts New Orleans on pace to shatter previous records, following a strong $342 million showing in 2024 and $250 million in 2025.
Much of this momentum is driven by high-profile projects like the Warner Bros. Pictures film Sinners. Directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, the production brought a massive $90 million budget to the city. Local officials credit Louisiana’s competitive film incentive program and the city’s diverse locations for attracting such significant investments from major studios.
New Orleans now boasts five film studios and a robust local workforce, making it a premier destination for Hollywood. According to the Mayor's Office, the surge in production is providing high-paying jobs and supporting local vendors across the region. With the current trajectory, 2026 is shaping up to be the most lucrative year for the city's entertainment sector yet.
