Grammy-winning bassist and singer Thundercat has officially ended his six-year hiatus with the release of his fifth studio album, Distracted. Released on April 3, 2026, through the Brainfeeder label, the project marks his first full-length effort since 2020's critically acclaimed It Is What It Is.

The new album boasts an impressive roster of guest artists. Fans will hear contributions from Lil Yachty, Tame Impala, A$AP Rocky, WILLOW, and Channel Tres. Notably, the project includes a posthumous appearance from the late Mac Miller, a long-time friend and frequent collaborator of the bassist.

Primary production for Distracted was handled by Greg Kurstin, known for his work with Adele and Foo Fighters. Thundercat’s official website describes the new material as a "natural evolution" of his signature jazz-fusion sound. The album is now available on all major streaming platforms and through physical retailers like T-Bone’s Records & Cafe and Crash Records.
