Even Hollywood's biggest stars have projects they would rather forget. Halle Berry famously accepted her 2005 Razzie Award for Worst Actress for Catwoman in person. During her speech, she thanked Warner Bros. for putting her in what she called a "piece of s**t, god-awful movie." Sandra Bullock shared similar regrets during a 2022 interview with TooFab, admitting she is still "embarrassed" by the 1997 sequel Speed 2: Cruise Control because the plot about a slow-moving boat "makes no sense."
Contractual obligations often force actors into roles they dislike. Channing Tatum revealed on The Howard Stern Show in 2015 that he "f***ing hated" 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Tatum explained that Paramount Pictures gave him a three-picture deal early in his career, leaving him with no choice but to suit up for the action flick. George Clooney has also been vocal about his dissatisfaction with 1997's Batman & Robin, frequently joking to the press that he personally "destroyed the franchise."
Creative disappointment is another common theme for stars looking back. Shia LaBeouf told the Los Angeles Times in 2010 that he felt he "dropped the ball" on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. He claimed the 2008 film didn't resonate with fans and blamed himself for not making his character more engaging. More recently, Rosamund Pike admitted to Collider in 2021 that she felt "embarrassed" by her work in the 2005 video game adaptation Doom, citing a lack of understanding of the source material at the time.
